Arcadia This Week 6/6/2022

Hello, Arcadia families, students, and friends,

We made it! It’s the last week of school–and it’s only two and a half days long. On Wednesday, we will share our May Term experiences, tidy up, and eat popsicles!

As we approach the end of the year, I am filled with gratitude for the Arcadia community. This is a truly wonderful group of people–students, families, staff, and supporters. We represent a wide range of experiences and perspectives, but we all value education and want our children to be part of a supportive learning environment, in keeping with the school’s mission. Your support made what could have been a very difficult year a lot less difficult. No challenge feels insurmountable with the support of the families we serve. It’s super energizing, and I am already so excited for next year! Thank you!!

For now, though, I’m guessing students are ready for a break! I hope you all have a wonderful summer! I am looking forward to seeing a number of you canoeing! I’ll be in touch with more information about summer programming.

In the meantime, here’s the plan for this week!

Monday, 6/6: May Term

Tuesday, 6/7: May Term

Wednesday, 6/8: Last Day of School

  • Early Release at 12:42pm

  • Graduation at Arcadia at 6:30pm

Early Release Transportation

If you didn’t request transportation, please arrive promptly at 12:42pm to pick up your child. The staff will be working right away after school to get everything cleaned up and ready for graduation and summer break, so we will not be able to provide supervision.

COVID Update **masks recommended**

The COVID-19 Community Level has stayed medium or low in the past fourteen days, so masks move from required to recommended. The case rate continues to hover around 100/100,000, specifically 97.06/100,000 in the one-week period ending 6/4/2022.

We have CUE tests available at school, and BD Veritor and Binax tests to send home with students.

Graduation: June 8th, 6:30pm at Arcadia

Graduation will take place in the backyard at Arcadia at 6:30pm on June 8th. Assuming we are outside, there will not be a limit to the number of guests welcome. If the weather prevents us from using the backyard, we will be in the Great Room. Masks will be required while not on stage (graduates can take them off to receive their diploma), and each graduate will be allowed six guests.
